Import, Export and Transport of Radioactive Sources
- Import, export, and sale of radioactive sources
- Transport of open and sealed radioactive sources of categories 2, 3, 4, and 5
The activities of import, export, and transport of radioactive sources are carried out either for EKOTEH’s own needs or on behalf of end users — legal and natural persons who possess authorization to work with ionizing radiation sources. Administrative procedures related to these activities are handled at EKOTEH’s headquarters.
The transport activity is conducted exclusively at the request of the purchaser or end user of the radioactive sources. In most cases, transport is performed in conjunction with import, export, or sale of radioactive sources, as well as with the installation or dismantling of radioactive sources or devices containing them.
The Act on the Transport of Dangerous Goods (Official Gazette 79/07 and 70/17) entered into force on January 1, 2008. This Act implements the European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR), including Annexes A and B, into the legislation of the Republic of Croatia.
